Came from last night’s hotel to the bike shop to discuss selling the bike. Got my two suitcases and brought them to the hotel where I am now. For some reason I seem to have one of the few rooms that has no air-conditioning but it doesn’t seem to be that bad, tonight is cool and I probably won’t be in that room much in the daytime. I came back after eating and there was a big group of students about 17-18 years old I’d guess, sitting in a circle in the lounge of the hotel and they’re all discussing their current coming up trip to Washington DC for two weeks where they’re going to homestay tour around in either Charlottesville, VA and half of them in Kansas City Missouri and they asked me to join them and so I said well sure you can ask me anything you want in English so we had a long talk about America my family my trip you know the usual and I was talking to them about all the stuff they were planning on doing.They really curious about America and all the stuff associated with America. And of course they were all interested in my thoughts about Chile. I was surprised this group could speak so well until I learned that they were all chosen from a much much larger group from all over Chile and none of these guys knew each other before they came here on Monday. They’ve been getting all the lowdown on what to do. How to do all the usual stuff when you go on a foreign school trip and evidently they are the best of the best and most of the ones that I was talking to had a really good command of English, better than my Spanish that’s for sure. Had a really good time talking to them.

This is one of the stores in the mall where I managed to find a single Chile tourist T-shirt but I don’t know if it’s the right size. I’m still looking for a regular T-shirt store in the tourist section of town, if there is one

The park also had a huge skateboarding park, but I only saw three people wearing helmets and they were all girls, ust be smarter than the guys

Talk about a blast from the past. These guys were popular back in the late 60s, early 70s, but I guess they’re world touring in the little towns still trying to make a buck.
